Happy Valentine's Day Randomness

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you all get to spend some time today with your loved ones!

Matt and I both had the day off of school (in-service for the school district I sub in and a planned day off for Matt's school).  We decided to have a fun breakfast for Harper this morning:

I tried to make heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes, sure not perfect but Harper enjoyed them!!

What holiday is complete without a sweet themed book??  That is the teacher in me coming out.  Anyways, Love Monster by: Rachel Bright is a really sweet little book!  We read it twice already!  And yes...she is wearing her FAVORITE pumpkin bib on Valentine's Day! :)

Then, Matt is going to be a great daddy and play with her all day while I do some major school work!  I have only a few more weeks of the class I'm in and a huge project coming up!  I've got to make some progress on it!  I seem to do things last minute ALL.THE.TIME!  Aahh! :)

I also wanted to share two really fun things!  When our friends came in last weekend they brought Harper a birthday present.  They got her this really awesome recordable artwork canvas art kit.  The kit came from Hallmark in case you are interested!  It came with a plastic frame, a canvas board, and paint.  You paint a cool picture and when you are done painting you can record a message on the frame.  Every time you push the button you can hear the message.  It is so fun and Harper had a great time doing it!

My mom suggested putting masking tape over the canvas (I did it in the shape of an "h") and then we let Harper paint all around the masking tape.  Once it was dry we pulled it off the canvas and had a really sweet picture.  Then, I recorded Harper telling me what letter was on the canvas!  It was really easy and fun, I would definitely recommend it!

Finally, have you all ever seen the Crayola bath crayons?  Our friends got some for Harper and they are awesome!  She has had fun coloring all over our bath tub.  Then, we just use a wash cloth to rinse it all off.  If the tips go dull, you can push them up the crayon.  So much fun!!

Well, I hope you have a WONDERFUL Valentine's Day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Another decoration...

It's going to be a quick post today.  I hope to be back tomorrow for another post!

This weekend we got to spend some time with our good friends!  They came to visit on Saturday and we had so much fun!  We sent the guys with our daughter's (2 and 3) to a bounce house place and the girls got in some quick shopping and crafting time!

One of the craft projects I was working on turned out really cute (at least I think so) and I wanted to share.

I got the inspiration on Pinterest:  14 Sign Inspiration

Here is what you will need:
1 large piece of scrapbook paper (mine was red with the word love in a black font)
White paint or whatever color you want to use for a background
Stencils, a cricut, or free hand if you are really talented  (I used my mom's cricut)
Glue
Mod Podge
Wooden Flat Board (I got mine for 2 something at Hobby Lobby in the wooden section)

First I painted the board white.
Then, I cut out the number 14 using a cricut.
Next, I glued the 14 on the board (once it was dry).
Finally, I applied some Mod Podge to the board to seal it.

I LOVE how it turned out.  I added it to the mantel and I feel pretty darn happy with my new Valentine's decorations!

2 Years Old!

Well, my baby is growing up.  She turned two yesterday, I can't believe it!  It honestly feels like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital!  What a crazy, fun, exciting, exhausting, frustrating, and blessed two years these have been!  I can't wait for many more together!

We started the day off with a cinnamon bun, a birthday book, and a balloon!

Birthday balloons are a tradition in my family.  Every year for many years we got a special birthday balloon.  I always looked forward to this tradition and it is one I'm passing along to Harper!  I hope she enjoys it as much as I did!

Then, we posed by our cupcake countdown because the birthday was finally here!!  She really liked the countdown by the way!!

We were going to go to the mall and play in the play place there.  They have a small kid's area and Harper loves to play in it.  She also loves to stop by the pet shop and see the puppies.  That was on our agenda but the weather had other plans!  It was so incredibly snowy here yesterday that I just didn't feel comfortable taking her out.  Instead we played games, read books, and just hung out all day.  It wasn't anything big or crazy but it was the perfect kind of day to truly enjoy my little one and her second birthday!  We also had a fun photo shoot!

She also had her first official piece of restaurant pizza (although she only had one bite...she was more interested in eating the bread sticks).  Papa brought it home for dinner and then I made a cookie cake and we had ice cream!  She only wanted the ice cream!  Bread sticks and ice cream, what a birthday dinner! :)

By the way, she has become obsessed with hockey lately.  I'm not sure where it has come from but she must say, "hockey" 100 times a day.  She LOVES it.  She has mini sticks, a mini net, and all she wanted for her birthday was, "hockey".  She doesn't say, "hockey sticks", or "hockey pucks"...everything is just plain old "hockey".  Her Grandma got her a hockey jersey and she wouldn't take it off for 2 days straight (except to wash it...and she wasn't happy about that).  Then, I found some hockey cake toppers for her cake.  I'm pretty sure they were one of her favorite things of the day!  Here is her cake with her "hockey".

This is her in her new FAVORITE outfit...a hockey jersey!

We finished the day with something so fun!  My cousin sent Harper some glow sticks and told me she throws a few in the tub with her son.  I thought that sounded so fun, and I knew it would be a great way to end her birthday!  She had a ball, it was the longest bath she ever took!

The flash was too bright in the dark so I didn't get any with her eyes open!

"Hockey" had to come to the bath with us too!

I'm feeling pretty blessed and thankful today!  Looking forward to another great year!

Thanks for stopping by today!
